Anti-encroachment Drive in Kakaripada, Jamshedpur: Residents Appeal for Relief

Eight illegal houses bulldozed by district administration in Kakaripada, Jamshedpur. Scheduled Caste residents plead for alternate arrangements.

JAMSHEDPUR – Yesterday, the district administration used bulldozers to demolish eight houses in Kakaripada under the jurisdiction of the Govindpur police station in Jamshedpur. The houses were allegedly built illegally, sparking action from the administration.

The villagers, who are primarily from the Scheduled Caste, claimed that some people have settlement, while others have settlement pattas ready but not issued by the administration. Caught in a challenging situation, they are appealing to the administration for alternate arrangements.

One of the villagers expressed the difficulty they are facing, “Our houses have been broken in this scorching sun. So where should we go?”

The villagers said that they come under the Scheduled Castes category and are now forced to grapple with the sudden loss of their homes.

The villagers are urging the administration to reconsider their stance and provide necessary assistance at the earliest to help them rebuild their lives.
