Maoists Begin ‘Shaheedi Week’ with Posters Across West Singhbhum

Police seize posters and search for those responsible as Naxalites commence their annual Shaheedi Week.

Naxalites have initiated their pre-announced Shaheedi Week starting from Sunday, July 28, by putting up posters in various parts of the district, urging the public to participate.

CHAIBASA – The Naxalites’ annual Shaheedi Week began on Sunday, July 28, and will continue until August 3.

The Naxalites marked the start of this event by placing posters in different areas of the district.

These posters invite the general public to observe Shaheedi Week.

Upon discovering the posters, the district police seized them and started searching for the individuals who put them up.

Every year, from July 28 to August 3, the CPI (Maoist) celebrates Shaheedi Week, remembering their fallen comrades by building memorials.

During this time, they also involve local villagers in their events.

This year, following their pre-announced schedule, the Naxalites commenced Shaheedi Week on Sunday.

They started by putting up posters in their stronghold areas of the district.

Large-scale poster campaigns were carried out in places like Panchpehiya in Jaraikela and Chotanagara village in the Saranda forest.

The posters appeal to local residents to participate in the Shaheedi Week events.

The Chotanagara poster sites are just 100 meters from the Chotanagara police station and the CRPF camp.

These posters were issued by the CPI (Maoist) South Zonal Committee.

The posters call for celebrating Shaheedi Week from July 28 to August 3 with enthusiasm and resolve.

Residents mentioned that this is the first time Naxalites have posted such notices so close to the Chotanagara police station, including areas like Hospital Chowk, Durga Mandap, and Gwala Basti.

In addition, Naxalites have posted similar messages in Panchpehiya village, including the school and several other locations in Jaraikela and Domlai village.

The posters and booklets contain slogans and messages urging revolutionary zeal and commitment during Shaheedi Week.

The police have seized the posters and are actively searching for those responsible.
