Experienced right-back joins Men of Steel, reunites with Head Coach Khalid Jamil

Jamshedpur FC strengthens its defensive lineup with the acquisition of veteran defender Ashutosh Mehta, bringing valuable experience to the squad.

JAMSHEDPUR – Jamshedpur FC has fortified its defensive ranks by securing the services of seasoned right-back Ashutosh Mehta for the upcoming season.

The 33-year-old defender brings a wealth of experience to the Men of Steel, having clinched two I-League titles with Mohun Bagan and Aizawl FC.

Mehta expressed his enthusiasm about joining Jamshedpur FC, pledging to give his all for the team and make the fans of Jharkhand proud.

The experienced defender’s most recent stints include playing for ATK Mohun Bagan in the 2021-22 season and NorthEast United FC in 2020-21, where he consistently delivered solid performances.

Mehta’s impressive track record includes a successful period with Mohun Bagan, during which he secured his second I-League title in the 2019-20 season.

His signing reunites him with Head Coach Khalid Jamil, under whom he has played at various stages of his career.

Coach Jamil highlighted the importance of Mehta’s experience, stating that his expertise will be crucial in adapting to different game situations.

Mehta, who will don the number 5 jersey, has already joined the team’s pre-season training camp.

Jamshedpur FC has also strengthened its midfield with the addition of Sourav Das.

The club has announced its squad for the upcoming IndianOil Durand Cup 2024, featuring a mix of experienced players and promising talents.
