JAMSHEDPUR – A state-of-the-art sports turf and café opened its doors at the Banjara Restaurant and Tamasha Pub in Marine Drive Bindal Mall, marking a new era in recreational facilities for the city.

Ex-cricketer Saurabh Tiwary, alongside local dignitaries, inaugurated the metro-inspired complex designed to promote physical activity and social engagement.

"This facility fills a crucial gap in our city’s recreational landscape," Tiwary remarked during the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Former MLA Kunal Sarangi praised the initiative, stating, "In today’s digital age, such spaces are vital for encouraging outdoor activities among all age groups."

The turf, equipped for both cricket and football, features safety measures including iron mesh fencing, catering to families’ concerns about children’s wellbeing.

Rahul Bhalotia, one of the promoters, explained, "We’ve created a safe haven for physical activity, countering the trend of excessive screen time."

The adjoining café offers refreshments, making it a comprehensive leisure destination for visitors.

Manav Kedia, Honorary General Secretary of the Chamber of Commerce, highlighted the facility’s potential for corporate events and team-building activities.

The venue’s advance booking system allows for easy scheduling of matches and events, accommodating various group sizes and purposes.

This metro-style concept, already popular in larger cities, is expected to resonate well with Jamshedpur’s community, offering a blend of sports, dining, and social interaction.
