JAMSHEDPUR – A pilgrimage turned tragic for a Jamshedpur resident as he lost his life to an accidental electrocution on the Katoria-Deoghar Kanwariya Path in Bihar.
Ramesh Kumar Ajiwal, 55, a resident of Adityapur, met with the fatal accident while on a break from his spiritual journey.
The incident occurred on Thursday morning at approximately 9:30 AM in Kolhua village, where Ajiwal and his group had stopped for refreshments.
"He was simply heading to use the restroom when the unthinkable happened," shared a visibly shaken fellow pilgrim.
Eyewitnesses report that Ajiwal inadvertently came into contact with an exposed wire from a stand fan at the tea stall.
Despite swift efforts to rush him to Katoria Referral Hospital, Dr. S.D. Mandal pronounced Ajiwal dead upon arrival.
"We’re devastated by this loss. Safety measures along pilgrimage routes need urgent review," remarked a local Kanwar Yatra organizer.
The police have initiated an investigation into the incident, with the body sent for post-mortem examination.

Ajiwal is survived by his family in Adityapur, who are grappling with the sudden and tragic loss of their loved one.
