South Eastern Railway announces temporary stoppages for various trains during month-long festival
South Eastern Railway introduces temporary halts at Mahadevsal Station for multiple trains to facilitate Shravani Mela pilgrims from July 21 to August 22, 2024.
JAMSHEDPUR – The South Eastern Railway has unveiled a plan to accommodate Shravani Mela pilgrims by implementing temporary train stoppages at Mahadevsal Station.
This special arrangement will be in effect from July 21 to August 22, 2024, coinciding with the duration of the Shravani Mela.
Various trains will make brief stops at Mahadevsal during this period to cater to the influx of pilgrims.
The South Bihar Express, running between Durg and Ara, will halt at Mahadevsal on Mondays and Sundays in both directions.
"We’re ensuring that pilgrims have convenient access to the Shravani Mela site," stated a South Eastern Railway official. "These temporary stoppages will significantly ease their travel."
Several express trains, including the Tatanagar-Itwari, Tatanagar-Bilaspur, and their return journeys, will stop daily at Mahadevsal.
The Ispat Express, connecting Howrah with Titlagarh and Kantabanji, will have scheduled stops on specific days of the week.
Weekly services like the Badampahar-Rourkela Express and the Howrah-Jagdalpur Sambaleswari Express will also make halts during their operating days.
MEMU specials running between Tatanagar-Rourkela and Chakradharpur-Rourkela will stop at Mahadevsal throughout the week, except on Saturdays for some services.
These temporary arrangements aim to enhance accessibility for pilgrims attending the Shravani Mela, a significant religious event in the region.
