Four run over by Duranto Express at Vijay Bridge in Chakradharpur

3 women and 1 man lost their lives while trying to cross the bridge over Vijay River in Chakradharpur as Duranto Express hit them before they could react.

Chaibasa: In a tragic accident, four persons died on the spot after being run over by Duronto Express. They were hit by the train while attempting to cross the bridge over Vijay River at Chakradharpur.

The deceased included three women and one man.

The accident took place at around 3:00 pm.

The news of the accident spread like a wild fire in the entire area.

A large number of locals gathered at the place.

On receiving information about the accident, railway officials and local police reached the spot.

During the investigation, the deceased were identified as villagers from Selengjodi village of Seraikela Kharsawan district.

The deceased included Sumi Purti, Amar Purti, Baa Purti and wife of Amar Purti.

According to sources, all of them had come to Allahabad Bank of Barabambo for some work.

After getting their work done in the bank, they were crossing the bridge over Vijay River and were going to a relative’s house.

While crossing the railway bridge across the river, the four died on the spot when they were hit by a speeding Duronto Express.

Sources said that the four were going to the house of their relative Narsingh Bodra located in Laodia village.

The police team arrived at the site of accident and sent the dead bodies for post-mortem.
