Jamshedpur’s Premier Hockey Institution Marks Milestone with Pride

NTHA’s 7th anniversary highlights its pivotal role in shaping India’s hockey future through holistic athlete development and world-class training.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Naval Tata Hockey Academy (NTHA) commemorated its 7th anniversary on July 13, 2024, showcasing its journey of excellence in hockey training and development.

Hemant Gupta, CEO of Hockey Ace Foundation and Head of Sports Academies at Tata Steel, graced the celebration held at the academy’s hostel.

Founded in 2017 by Ratan Tata, NTHA has overcome challenges to become a leading hockey institution in India.

The anniversary event featured performances by cadets, highlighting the academy’s focus on holistic development.

Gupta praised NTHA’s growth, emphasizing its commitment to producing top-tier players at national and international levels.

Since its inception, NTHA has boasted world-class facilities, including a hockey-specific gym and access to top-tier nutritionists and physiotherapists.

The academy has produced 7 Indian campers, with 3 cadets representing the national team against the Netherlands.

NTHA’s achievements include winning the 2nd Academy Nationals and the Hockey India Presidential Award.

Several cadets have secured positions in esteemed organizations like the Indian Air Force, Army, South Eastern Railway, and Rajasthan Police.

Looking ahead, NTHA remains committed to innovation and excellence in developing future hockey stars and contributing to the sport’s growth in India.
