Jamshedpur Admn Holds Peace Committee Meeting Ahead of Muharram 2024
Officials emphasize maintaining law and order, urging vigilance against false information on social media.
A meeting was held at the Ravindra Bhawan auditorium in Sakchi, Jamshedpur, with District Commissioner Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal to discuss peace and order during Muharram 2024.
JAMSHEDPUR – In preparation for Muharram 2024, District Commissioner Ananya Mittal and Senior Superintendent of Police Kishore Kaushal convened a meeting with Central Peace Committee members and licensees of various Muharram Committees at Ravindra Bhawan, Sakchi.
The meeting focused on maintaining law and order and addressing concerns raised by Muharram Committees. Feedback from peace committee meetings in various police station areas was reviewed.
Key Directives and Preparations
Officials emphasized that Muharram processions must follow the traditional routes without deviations. Administration and police officers were instructed to verify these routes in advance to ensure a smooth procession.
"Adhering to the traditional procession routes is crucial for maintaining order," stated Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal.
The district administration assured the committees of prompt action regarding issues of drinking water, electricity, and other basic facilities.
Security Measures
An adequate number of magistrates, police officers, and police forces will be deployed to ensure peace during Muharram.
Special surveillance will be maintained at sensitive locations, and dedicated teams will monitor social media to prevent the spread of false information and rumors.
Muharram committees were urged to provide a list of 20 volunteers to the concerned police station in charge. These volunteers, along with an active committee member, will monitor anti-social elements during the processions.
Community Cooperation
The meeting concluded with a call for cooperation and unity during Muharram. Officials requested the Muharram committees to foster peace and communal harmony.
Senior officials present at the meeting included Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, City cum Rural SP Rishabh Garg, ADM (SOR) Mahendra Kumar, Director NEP Ajay Sao, SDM Ghatshila, and other district-level officers.
The collective efforts of the administration and the community aim to ensure a peaceful and harmonious observance of Muharram 2024.
