JAMSHEDPUR – Mohammad Mehmood Ashraf, a resident of Jawahar Nagar Road No. 13, was attacked by a group of 20-25 intoxicated youths demanding Muharram donations.

Armed with weapons and making loud noises, the youths forced their way into Ashraf’s house.

They used a baseball bat to hit him on the head, causing severe injuries.

Ashraf lodged a complaint at Mango police station, and the police sent him to MGM Hospital for treatment.

Ashraf recounted that around 11 AM on Sunday, the group arrived at his home, demanding donations while making noise.

When Ashraf requested them to stop, citing a heart patient in the house, they began to abuse and assault him.

"They didn’t listen and instead attacked me with a baseball bat," Ashraf said.

Local residents mentioned that the area is a frequent gathering spot for drug addicts, causing inconvenience to both residents and passersby.
