Man Allegedly Driven to Suicide by Domestic Issues
Anil Rajak, a 40-year-old resident of Jhabri Basti in Sonari, died allegedly by suicide by cutting his wrist early on Sunday.
JAMSHEDPUR – Anil Rajak, a resident of Jhabri Basti in Sonari, died by alleged suicide on Sunday after reportedly cutting his wrist.
He was taken to MGM Hospital by his family, where doctors declared him dead.
Anil Rajak, who worked as a laundryman in the locality, had been distressed due to domestic issues.
His wife had left him about two and a half months ago due to ongoing family disputes.
Late on Saturday night, Anil cut his wrist, leading to severe blood loss.
His family rushed him to MGM Hospital around 5 AM, but he was declared dead by the doctors.
"This situation has deeply affected our family," said a relative.
Upon receiving the news, the wife also reached MGM Hospital.
She revealed that she had married Anil in 2011, and disputes had arisen a few years into their marriage.
According to her, her husband, along with her in-laws, frequently abused her, leading her to leave for her parental home.
She claimed that her brother-in-law had threatened her with violence, forcing her to leave home two and a half months ago.
Anil’s younger brother, Suraj Rajak, blamed her for his brother’s death, alleging that she had an affair which led to frequent quarrels with Anil.
Suraj claimed that here lover also threatened the family, contributing to Anil’s decision to end his life.
Suraj mentioned that Anil left a suicide note detailing these accusations.
He also refuted wife’s claims of domestic abuse, stating that there were no records of serious injuries or medical treatments.
The Sonari police were informed by the hospital about Anil’s death.
The police sent Anil’s body for postmortem and are investigating the matter.
