Advocates Restoration Over New Construction, Highlights Jharkhand’s Shri Laxminarayan Temple

The famed ex-IPS of Bihar Kishore Kunal praised Saryu Roy’s temple renovation work and emphasized the importance of restoring old temples over building new ones.

JAMSHEDPUR – The much-famed ex-IPS Kishore Kunal, the patron of Shri Mahavir Temple in Patna, on Saturday emphasized the importance of renovating old temples over constructing new ones. He also praised the restoration efforts led by Saryu Roy in Jamshedpur.

During his visit to Jamshedpur for the fourth day of the Shri Laxminarayan Pran-Pratishtha Mahayagna, Kunal stressed the significance of avoiding misconceptions as far as temples are concerned.

He mentioned that myths about temple structures should not deter strong-willed individuals, citing the 33-feet tall, 250-metric-ton Shivalinga in their largest temple project as an example.

Kunal lauded Saryu Roy for overcoming these misconceptions and beginning the temple’s renovation with a clear conscience and said that his efforts have seen fruition in a short time.

He stated that temples should serve the public and aim for the welfare of the community, emphasizing that public funds should be utilized for the betterment of society as it enhances the temple’s significance.

Kunal also elaborated on the four pillars of religion: rituals, philosophy, moral values, and charity. He encouraged adherence to these principles for a truly religious life.

Highlighting their largest temple project, Kunal revealed that over Rs. 100 crore had been spent without soliciting any public donation and thus demonstrating the temple trust’s robust system.

He expressed confidence that the Shri Laxminarayan Temple would also become a beacon of community welfare and religious significance in Jharkhand in the days to come.

Pathak, involved in the restoration of the Shiva temple in Brahmapur village, Buxar, credited Saryu Roy’s for the project’s success.

In turn, Saryu Roy also introduced Kishore Kunal and Justice SN Pathak, praising their contributions. He shared his experiences with the temple’s restoration and said that he also strived hard to ensure that it remains a purely religious site without political interference.

Roy also expressed his desire to establish a Vedic study center and library at the temple for the benefit of all community members.

The event included notable attendees such as District Judge Anil Kumar Mishra, Ashok Bhalotia, Dilap Goyal, SK Behra, Adarsh Dodrajka, Balamukund Goyal, advocate Akhilesh Srivastava, Shankar Gupta, Bharatiya Janatantra Morcha’s central president Dharmendra Tiwari, advocates Kailash Kumar Agrawal and Shankar Lal Agrawal, Jivan Naredi, Shiv Shankar Singh, Abhishek Bhalotia, Jaswant Singh, Ravi Singh, Ashutosh Rai, Aniket Singh, and Hare Ram Singh.
