"We were stopped from proceeding to Raj Bhavan to voice our demands," a protester stated.
The assistant police personnel are demonstrating for improved wages and job security.
A large police contingent led by the city DSP was deployed to manage the situation at Morabadi ground.
"We’ve been working on a monthly honorarium of only Rs 10,000 since 2017," a representative of the Assistant Police Jawan Sangh explained.
Protesters argue that the current wage is insufficient to support their families.
They are demanding adjustment to vacant police service posts, citing a severe shortage of personnel in the state.
The demonstration highlights ongoing issues of temporary workers’ rights in Jharkhand’s law enforcement sector.
