JAMSHEDPUR – A controversy arose in Sidhgora after a proposed police sub-inspector allegedly hurled an abusive remark at a retail shopkeeper.
The incident came to light when the shopkeeper shared a video of the abuse with BJP’s former leader Vikas Singh. Singh later forwarded the clip to Jamshedpur SSP Piyush Pandey.
However, while sending the video, Singh criticized the officer in a satirical tone. He suggested that the sub-inspector should be honored with a medal on January 26 for insulting a hardworking shopkeeper.
Moreover, Singh accused the district police of ignoring widespread illegal trade. He alleged that daily lottery and narcotic substances were being openly sold in every neighborhood with police support.
A source familiar with the matter remarked, “The situation reflects poorly on law enforcement credibility in the city.”
