RANCHI – Senior bureaucrat Avinash Kumar has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary to newly sworn-in Chief Minister Hemant Soren.
"The Department of Personnel Administrative Reforms and Official Language has issued a notification for Kumar’s appointment," a government source confirmed.
Soren took oath as Chief Minister on Monday, with a special assembly session called for the same day.
"A cabinet expansion is expected on Tuesday, with potential changes in ministerial positions," a political analyst noted.
Congress leaders are meeting top party officials in Delhi to discuss possible changes in their ministerial quota.
After his swearing-in at 5 PM, Soren visited the Secretariat at Project Bhawan to meet officials.
"The Chief Minister was welcomed by officials at the Secretariat," an eyewitness reported.
The swift governmental changes follow Soren’s return to power after a brief period of political uncertainty.
Kumar’s appointment as Additional Chief Secretary signals the new administration’s focus on efficient governance.
These developments mark the beginning of Soren’s third term as Jharkhand’s Chief Minister.
