JAMSHEDPUR – Deputy Commissioner Ananya Mittal chaired a crucial review meeting of cooperative departmental schemes, emphasizing the district’s path to self-reliance in fisheries and milk production.
"Our goal is to create additional income sources for farmers through cooperative societies," Mittal stated during the meeting held at the Collectorate.
Key Initiatives Discussed:
Warehouse Construction:
– 63 warehouses (100 MT capacity)
– 8 warehouses (500 MT capacity)
– 5 MT cold rooms
Lamps Development:
– Conversion to Pradhan Mantri Jan Aushadhi Kendras
– Computerization and fertilizer license issuance
– Association with NCCF (47 Lamps registered)
Cooperative Committees:
– Formation of Fishermen and Milk Producer committees in all blocks
– Land allocation for fruit and vegetable retail outlets
Additional Focus Areas:
– Jharkhand State Crop Relief Scheme (JRFRY)
– Joint cooperative buildings construction
– Providing rooms to Lamps in Panchayat Bhawans
"These initiatives aim to enhance economic stability through cooperative efforts," explained a key district officer who attended the meet.
The meeting saw participation from key officials including District Agriculture Officer Deepak Kumar and District Fisheries Officer Alka Panna.
This comprehensive approach underscores East Singhbhum’s commitment to boosting local agriculture and allied sectors through cooperative mechanisms.
