Concerns raised about violence and exploitation of tribal landowners.
JAMSHEDPUR – MLA Ramdas Soren led a delegation to meet the District Deputy Commissioner, demanding an investigation into illegal land transactions and rising violence in the Galudih police station area of Ghatshila sub-division.
The group expressed concern over the unauthorized buying and selling of tribal lands and properties acquired by the state government for irrigation projects.
"We’re requesting a high-level inquiry into the sudden increase in violent incidents related to these land disputes," Soren stated.
The delegation included key members of the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) party:
– Veer Singh Suren and Kanhu Samant, Central Committee members
– Sagen Purti and Pintu Datta, District Vice Presidents
– Kalipado Gorai, District Treasurer
– Kajal Don, President of Jharkhand Shramik Sangh Ghatshila
– Arjun Chand Hansda, Dhalbhumgarh Block President
– Maulishaul Vikram Tudu, Mukhiya
– Arun Singh Raja, District Social Media In-charge
The team highlighted the exploitation of tribal landowners by alleged land mafias in the region.
They urged the administration to take necessary action to protect tribal land rights and prevent further escalation of violence.
This initiative by Soren and his colleagues underscores the ongoing challenges in land management and tribal welfare in Jharkhand’s rural areas.
The meeting reflects growing concerns about the impact of development projects on traditional landholding patterns in tribal communities.
Local authorities are expected to respond to these allegations and initiate appropriate measures to address the situation.
