TSAF Athletes Win 13 Medals at Independence Day Cup in Bengaluru

Team from Tata Steel Adventure Foundation shines at Sub-junior national lead and speed competition.

Tata Steel Adventure Foundation (TSAF) Sport Climbing Academy’s team of 18 athletes brought home 13 medals from the Independence Day Cup held in Bengaluru.

JAMSHEDPUR – Athletes from Tata Steel Adventure Foundation Sport Climbing Academy secured 13 medals at the Independence Day Cup in Bengaluru, held from 15th August 2024.

The competition, organized by the Indian Mountaineering Foundation, took place at the Yavanika Climbing Wall and featured over 110 participants from across the country.

The event was divided into two categories: Youth C and Youth D, for both male and female athletes.

The TSAF team, consisting of 18 athletes from various grassroots centers, was accompanied by coaches and a manager.

They departed for Bengaluru on 13th August and returned on 18th August after their impressive performance.

The team won 6 Gold, 4 Silver, and 3 Bronze medals in the competition.

One of the TSAF coaches stated, "Our athletes have shown tremendous skill and determination, and their success at this national event is a testament to their hard work and dedication."

The achievements of the TSAF athletes reflect the quality of training and support provided by the foundation.

The athletes’ performance at this prestigious event is expected to inspire more young climbers to pursue the sport.
