Selection for Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya and Jharkhand Balika Awasiya Vidyalaya Completed

111 primitive tribe girls, 36 orphans, 296 single parent girls, and 9 disabled children get priority enrollment for 2023-24 session at local schools.

JAMSHEDPUR – The District Selection Committee meeting was recently organized to determine the student admissions for the 2023-24 session in nine Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalayas and two Jharkhand Girls Residential Schools operating in the district.

The meeting took place in the Collectorate Auditorium, Jamshedpur, and was attended by the Honorable MLA, Director DRDA Mr. Saurabh Sinha, District Education Officer Mrs. Nirmala Barelia, among other key district personnel.

According to the instructions of the District Deputy Commissioner, Mrs. Vijaya Jadhav, 111 girl students from primitive tribes, 36 orphan girls, 296 girls from single-parent families, 9 disabled children, and 80 children from remote focus area villages have been selected and will be given priority for enrollment.

In total, 750 seats were approved for class 6, with 75 seats allocated to each Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya and 50 seats to the Jharkhand Residential Girls School. Additional approvals were given for 8 seats in class 7, 13 vacant seats in class 8, and 11 seats in class 9, totaling 782 seats.

It was further instructed that the enrollment process should be completed within the next seven days. Upon completion, a welcome ceremony will be organized for the newly enrolled girls, with invitations extended to their parents as well.
