Jamshedpur Launches Second Special Voter List Revision

District aims for comprehensive electoral roll update with focus on inclusivity

East Singhbhum district initiates a two-phase voter list revision program, targeting new voters and marginalized communities.

JAMSHEDPUR – District Election Officer Mittal Ananya announced the commencement of the second special summary revision for voter lists on Tuesday.

"This program aims to create an all-inclusive and accurate electoral roll," Mittal stated, emphasizing July 1, 2024, as the eligibility date.

The revision will occur in two phases: Pre-revision Activities (June 25-July 24) and Revision Activities (July 25-August 20).

Key dates include draft voter list publication on July 25 and final publication on August 20, 2024.

Special campaigns are scheduled for July 27-28 and August 3-4 to facilitate the revision process.

An Inclusive Week (July 29-August 2) will target marginalized groups, including PVTGs, Divyangjan, and Third Gender individuals.

"We urge political parties to support this initiative by encouraging participation in house-to-house surveys," Mittal added.

The program focuses on enrolling new voters turning 18 by July 1, 2024, and removing outdated or duplicate entries.

Claims and objections can be filed between July 25 and August 9, with settlement by August 19.

Key officials present included Kumar Manish (Deputy Development Commissioner) and Singh Parul (SDO Dhalbhum).
