A dispute turned violent in Baldev Basti, leaving a young man with a severe gunshot wound to the head as police investigate the incident.

JAMSHEDPUR – A 19-year-old resident of Jugsalai’s Baldev Basti is fighting for his life at Tata Main Hospital (TMH) after being shot in the head during a confrontation on Sunday morning.

Karan Singh was filling water outside his home when the incident occurred, leaving him critically injured.

"Two youths from Chhaya Nagar arrived on a motorcycle, claiming they needed directions," a local witness reported, describing the events leading to the shooting.

The situation escalated quickly, resulting in one of the assailants firing at Singh before fleeing the scene.

In an unexpected turn, the attackers rushed Singh to TMH for treatment before disappearing.

"We’re investigating the motive behind this violent act," stated a Jugsalai police station official, confirming that two suspects have been detained for questioning.

Singh’s mother and neighbors rushed to the hospital upon hearing the news, shocked by the sudden violence in their community.

The victim, employed at P&M Mall, resides with his mother in Jugsalai Baldev Basti.

Singh remains in critical condition in TMH’s Intensive Care Unit as doctors work to save his life.

Local authorities are intensifying efforts to apprehend all individuals involved and uncover the root cause of the dispute that led to this tragic incident.
