Jharkhand Masters Athletics Elects New Leadership

Annual meeting sees Singh appointed President, honors World Championship-bound athletes

Jamshedpur’s Telco Club hosted the Masters Athletics Association of Jharkhand’s AGM, electing new officials and recognizing athletes set to compete globally.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Masters Athletics Association of Jharkhand convened its annual general meeting at Telco Club, marking International Olympic Day with key organizational decisions.

Vijay Singh, a former player and social worker, was unanimously elected as the new President of the association.

"We’re committed to nurturing athletic talent across age groups in Jharkhand," Singh stated after his appointment.

The meeting saw Pramanik Achinto, an international master athlete, elected as Vice President, while Kumar Sanjeev secured the position of Joint Secretary.

Several esteemed athletes were elected to the executive committee, including Kumar Mithlesh, Shukla Umshankar, Dhobi Mahesh, Pandey RK, and Kaur Hardeep.

The association honored Tomar SK, Swain Kabita, Kaur Charanjit, and Kumari Neetu for their selection to represent India at the upcoming World Masters Athletics Championship in Sweden.

Discussions during the AGM focused on introducing new events in the current year to diversify athletic opportunities.

The meeting was attended by numerous international and national star athletes, showcasing the strength of Jharkhand’s athletic community.

Notable attendees included Singh Gurdev, Singh Avtar, Marndi B, Mahanta L AM, Pandey Deeparshi, Behera J, Tomar Sonu, Munda Ashok, Kumar Dharmendra, Chatterjee AM AL, and Das RL.

This gathering underscored the association’s commitment to promoting athletics and recognizing outstanding performers across age categories.
