Jharkhand CM Pushes for Balanced Industrial Growth

Soren Emphasizes Rural Development and Women Empowerment

Champai Soren’s industrial review spotlights rural enterprises, women’s empowerment, and revival of dormant industries to boost Jharkhand’s economic landscape.

RANCHI – Chief Minister Champai Soren conducted a comprehensive review of Jharkhand’s industrial progress, advocating for a balanced approach to development.

The Chief Minister stressed the importance of promoting both large-scale industries and small rural enterprises during a high-level meeting at the Jharkhand Secretariat. He emphasized that fostering cottage industries in remote areas could significantly boost income for farmers and underprivileged communities.

"Our state’s silk and tassar production sectors offer excellent employment opportunities," Soren stated. He directed Jharcraft and Khadi Board officials to intensify skill development programs for women in rural areas.

Empowering Women Through Self-Employment

Soren highlighted the state government’s priority to make women self-reliant through self-employment initiatives. He noted the promising prospects in thread production and instructed officials to motivate and train women in this field.

"We must provide comprehensive training in tassar and silk cocoon processing, as well as thread manufacturing," the Chief Minister added. He also mandated a 35% subsidy on equipment for women trained by the Khadi Board and Jharcraft.

Reviving Dormant Industries

Addressing the Jharkhand Industrial Area Development Authority (JIADA), Soren ordered a survey of inactive industrial units. "Reviving these units could generate thousands of jobs," he explained, emphasizing the need for swift action.

The Chief Minister reiterated the importance of adhering to the state’s 75% local employment policy in industrial sectors. He also stressed the need for improved infrastructure in industrial areas, including better roads, electricity, water supply, and sanitation facilities.

Accelerating Development Projects

Soren reviewed the progress of various initiatives, including the Jharkhand Plastic Park, Pharma Park, and PM Gati Shakti Yojana. He urged officials to expedite these projects, along with the construction of the World Trade Center in Ranchi and the renovation of District Industry Centers.

"It’s our collective responsibility to maximize the use of resources developed for job creation," Soren concluded, calling for a proactive approach from all officials.
