Why Being Brown Becomes Difficult Among Browns

“Tera Kya Hoga Lovely” Flop Highlights the Need to Redefine Beauty Standards and Marital Expectations

The recent flop of the film “Tera Kya Hoga Lovely” underscores the persistent societal bias against dark-skinned girls in matters of marriage and beauty. However, true beauty and a successful marriage depend on a person’s character, compatibility, and the ability to provide a sense of completeness, rather than superficial attributes like skin color.

JAMSHEDPUR – In the first quarter of the year a film ‘Tera Kya Hoga Lovely’ was released. It couldn’t impress the audiences and flopped.

This topic has been repeated, endless times in the tele-serials and there is no newness in the central idea.

If the results would have been the opposite, would that mean that the path of a brown girl to be one is easy.

My point is, what is the definition of marriage? Is marriage a social event!

That being said, why looms an invisible pressure upon dark-skinned girls when it comes to finding or getting chosen as a life-partner.

Marriage is in reality a personal, family and social need. We all need life-partners not to present the person as a trophy before society but as a blessing to have that kind and nice person as someone who gives us the feeling of completeness in life.

A person with whom our mental wavelengths match. A sense of dependability on that person that never existed before. It takes not a bright skin-color to be a good human but a good heart.

Every living being has been given the gift of skin to protect the internal organs and let the body function smoothly.

The skin is called bark in trees. Then why the fuss of skin color. This is also a truth: a skin color guarantees nothing in life. Whatever a person achieves in life is through efforting against the odds.

There are several examples of successful marriages of dusky girls.

So the realization of a girl from childhood of being dark and hence different being made by the society and home at her young age behaves more in a destructive manner than vice-versa.

The character development of a child begins at a tender age and criticism of this kind does no good in the growth of a child.

The name of a popular brand that claims to rectify skin color, getting changed is how much an achievement is still an unanswered project.

The question is why the need for these kinds of cosmetics. And why the clause of rectification. What is wrong with being not fair?

We all know every human is beautiful and complete in his/her own way. Why this search for perfection which is simply an illusion. A human is not his/her skin color but something much more. Let the brown girls breathe freely and not with a feeling of contempt for being brown.
