DAV Public School Hosts Capacity Building Programme for Teachers

CBSE COE Patna organizes workshop on Art Integration in Education at DAV Public School, Jamshedpur.

A one-day Capacity Building Programme on Art Integration in Education was hosted by DAV Public School, Bistupur, Jamshedpur, on Thursday, 13 June 2024.

JAMSHEDPUR – DAV Public School, Bistupur, Jamshedpur, held a Capacity Building Programme for in-service teachers, focusing on various aspects of Art Integration in Education.

The workshop was organized by CBSE COE Patna.

The event commenced with the DAV GAAN, followed by the ceremonial lamp lighting.

Session I: Introduction to Arts in Education

The first session, led by Mrs. Namita Agarwal, Principal of Jamshedpur Public School, delved into the introduction of Arts in Education.

Mrs. Agarwal explained the significance of Art in enhancing both teaching and learning processes.

Session II: Planning Integration of Arts into Curriculum

In the second session, Mrs. Madhu Mishra, Principal of Blue Bells High School, emphasized the importance of integrating Art into the curriculum.

She described it as a cross-curricular approach where Art, in its various forms, becomes the main pathway for learning and assessment.

Session III: Developing Arts Integration through Experiential Learning

Mrs. Namita Agarwal returned to lead the third session, focusing on developing Arts Integration through Experiential Learning.

She introduced the PDCA cycle (plan, do, check, act) and Kolb’s Experiential Learning cycle.

Participants received sample lesson plan templates and were tasked with creating lesson plans tailored to their class levels.

Final Session: Examining the CBSE Handbook on Arts Integration

The concluding session was led by Mrs. Madhu Mishra, who is also a CBSE Resource Person.

She elaborated on the practical aspects of the CBSE Handbook on Arts Integration and its relevance to Experiential Learning.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks and a gesture of gratitude towards the resource persons, marked by their felicitation.
