Rozni Phoda Ceremony Marks Chadak Puja in Adityapur’s Dindali Basti

Enthusiasm and Devotion Fill the Streets as Devotees Participate in Ancient Ritual

The vibrant celebration of Chadak Puja in Adityapur’s Dindali Basti saw over two and a half dozen devotees participating in the Rozni Phoda ceremony today.

JAMSHEDPUR – The two-day Chadak Puja celebration in Dindali Basti, Adityapur, saw a vibrant program of Rozni Phoda today, with over two and a half dozen devotees participating in the ritual.

The Chadak Puja, organized under the leadership of the Dindali Shiv Puja Committee, created an atmosphere of excitement and devotion throughout the colony.

Streets were bustling with activity as residents and visitors made their way to the Shiv temple.

Many were heading to worship, while others were there to offer sacrifices in gratitude for the fulfillment of their wishes.

Devotees undergoing Rozni Phoda moved towards their destination, dancing and singing in their unique style.

Local residents welcomed the devotees with warmth and hospitality.

According to tradition, local people make wishes to God during Chadak Puja, and upon fulfillment, they offer sacrifices to show their gratitude.

Today, a total of 50 sacrifices were made to please the Lord.

The Chadak Puja has been a traditional ceremony in Dindali Basti since 1818, marking this year as its 206th celebration.

The event was graced by the presence of committee president Laltu Mahato, patron Pradeep Mahato alias Chhabi Mahato, vice-president Riten Mahato, Manoj Mandal alias Basta, Gurjeet Singh, and others.

The Chadak Puja drew not only residents of the colony but also many outsiders who came to worship and enjoy the fair.

The festivities, which began in the morning, continued until late evening, attracting large crowds.

In the evening, a Chhau dance performance in the Purulia style by Ajit Kumar and Vrindavan Kumar’s teams entertained the gathering, while yesterday featured a Saraikela style Chhau dance.
