Tata Steel UISL Plants Over 2000 Saplings to Celebrate World Environment Day
Diverse Species Planted to Enhance Biodiversity and Ecological Resilience
Tata Steel UISL marked World Environment Day with a significant tree-planting event, highlighting its dedication to environmental sustainability.
JAMSHEDPUR – In celebration of World Environment Day, Tata Steel UISL undertook a major tree-planting initiative, planting over 2000 saplings at Neem Baug and CRM Bara.
The event featured a variety of species including Mahogany, Karanj, Jungle Jalebi, Mahaneem, Nagchampa, Imli, Chatim, Siris, Kadam, Tabebuia, Peltaphorum, and Neem, aimed at creating a rich and balanced ecosystem.
Ritu Raj Sinha, Managing Director of Tata Steel UISL, served as the Chief Guest, accompanied by Raghunath Pandey, President of JUSCO Shramik Union, Pranay Sinha, Chief of Corporate Services at Tata Steel, and Varun Bajaj, Chief of Town Infrastructure & Logistics at Tata Steel.
Their attendance highlighted the company’s unified commitment to environmental stewardship.
In addition to the tree-planting event, the Upstream Recycling RRR Centre was inaugurated at Uliyan Flats by Ritu Raj Sinha.
The event saw active participation from the local community, including residents of Uliyan flats, Kadma, and senior citizens, who joined the tree-planting activities.
This collective effort emphasized the importance of individual contributions to environmental conservation and fostered a spirit of unity and shared responsibility.
Tata Steel UISL’s initiative is part of a larger environmental agenda focused on reducing carbon footprint, conserving natural resources, and promoting sustainable practices across all operations.
A participant stated, "This event not only enhances our green spaces but also builds a sense of community responsibility towards the environment."
