Helicopters Used to Transport 183 Polling Staff and Security Personnel to Naxal-Affected Areas

As the voting day approaches in the Singhbhum parliamentary constituency, the authorities have begun the massive task of deploying polling personnel and security forces to ensure smooth and safe elections, with a special focus on Naxal-affected areas.

CHAIBASA – With just two days remaining before the voters in the Singhbhum parliamentary constituency exercise their democratic right, the election authorities have initiated the process of sending 518 polling personnel to various clusters across the region.

Among them, 183 polling personnel have been transported via helicopter to clusters located in Naxal-affected areas, while the remaining staff members were sent through trains and other vehicles.

The decision to use helicopters for transporting polling personnel to Naxal-affected areas highlights the challenges posed by the security situation in these regions and the authorities’ commitment to ensuring that the election process is conducted smoothly and without any hindrances.

In addition to the polling personnel, security forces have also been deployed to the clusters situated in Naxal-affected areas using helicopters.

This large-scale deployment of security personnel is aimed at maintaining law and order and providing a safe environment for voters to cast their ballots.

The remaining polling personnel are scheduled to be sent to their assigned clusters tomorrow, completing the deployment process ahead of the voting day.

According to SP Ashutosh Shekhar, a total of 524 polling stations in the district have been classified as sensitive due to the influence of Naxalite activities.

In response to this security challenge, the authorities have deployed security forces on a large scale to ensure the safety of voters and the integrity of the election process.

The deployment of polling personnel and security forces in the Singhbhum parliamentary constituency, especially in the Naxal-affected areas, underscores the logistical challenges and security concerns associated with conducting elections in regions grappling with insurgency and unrest.
