Jamshedpur Police Seize 67 Kg Illegal Ganja, Arrest One in Chakulia Raid
Successful Anti-Drug Operation Led by SSP Kaushal Kishore Nets Large Haul, Suspect in Custody
In a significant crackdown on illegal drug trafficking, Jamshedpur Police have apprehended an individual and seized a substantial quantity of contraband ganja from a residence in the Chakulia rural area.
JAMSHEDPUR – A successful anti-drug operation in Chakulia, Jamshedpur, has resulted in the arrest of one person and the seizure of 67 kg of illegal ganja from a local resident’s home.
The arrested individual has been identified as 29-year-old Tikaram Soren, a resident of Sakin Bondoshol in Chakulia.
Jamshedpur SSP Kaushal Kishore spearheaded the raid operation, forming a specialized team under the guidance of Rural SP Rishabh Garg.
The SSP revealed that the raid was carried out on Monday afternoon based on confidential information regarding Tokaram Soren’s residence in Bhondshol, Chakulia.
Upon searching the premises, authorities discovered four sacks containing a total of 32 packets of ganja, amounting to a combined weight of 67 kg.
Soren was promptly taken into custody for his involvement in the illegal business and was remanded to judicial custody on Tuesday.
Police are currently pursuing leads to apprehend three additional suspects believed to be connected to the case.
Investigators have determined that the seized ganja originated from Odisha and was intended for distribution in both rural and urban areas of Jamshedpur.
The raid team comprised several high-ranking officials, including Ghatsila sub-divisional police officer Ajit Kumar Kujur, Musabani deputy superintendent Sandeep Bhagat, Chakulia circle officer Upendra Kumar, Chakulia police station in-charge Santosh Kumar, and Dhalbhumgarh police station in-charge Rajendra Kumar Munda.
