Significant Illegal Liquor Haul Seized in Sakchi, Businessman Arrested
The Excise Department in Jamshedpur has successfully disrupted an illicit liquor operation, seizing a substantial stash and making a notable arrest in the process.
JAMSHEDPUR – A recent raid by the Jamshedpur Excise Department has led to a significant seizure of illegal liquor and the arrest of a local businessman involved in its production and distribution.
The operation targeted the residence of Anirudh Singh, a businessman who worked at a government liquor store on Sakchi Kalimati Road, but was found manufacturing counterfeit liquor at his home in Adarsh Nagar, under the Sonari police station’s jurisdiction.
Excise officials, led by Assistant Excise Commissioner Ram Leela Rabbani, discovered that Singh had been bottling and selling the illicit product across various regions.
It was also revealed that Singh’s illegal activities were a continuation of family practices, with both his sons currently incarcerated for similar offenses.
The department acted on confidential tips and successfully recovered liquor valued at approximately one lakh rupees.
Following the raid, Singh was taken into judicial custody, highlighting the department’s ongoing efforts to curb illegal liquor activities in the area.
