Rural women in Putru and Darisai villages launched a campaign against illegal liquor sales, with strong police backing.
Residents of Putru and Darisai, led by local women and Galudih police, took a firm stand against illegal liquor activities, significantly impacting the community.
JAMSHEDPUR – An awareness campaign against illegal liquor was conducted in Putru village of Ulda Panchayat under the Galudih police station area on Tuesday.
Women from Putru and Darisai, supported by the Galudih police, played a crucial role in the campaign.
The campaign was spearheaded by Galudih police station in-charge Kumar Indresh.
Women police officers also actively participated.
They collaborated with members of the Mahila Sakshi Manch Mahila Samiti.
Together, they inspected the houses of four known liquor sellers: Basanti Karmakar, Maha Singh, Krishna Singh, and Sonamani Tudu.
Illegal country-made Mahua liquor was seized and discarded.
Around 13 handi pots used for liquor production were destroyed.
Kumar Indresh cautioned the sellers against continuing their illegal activities and dispersed individuals consuming liquor.
A significant number of local women joined the initiative.
The previous day, women from Putru and Darisai had submitted an application at the Galudih police station.
They demanded immediate action against the sale of illegal liquor.
The community’s efforts reflect a strong commitment to eliminating illegal liquor sales in their area.
