Jamshedpur: Police Intervene in Putru Land Dispute, Two Arrested

Galudih police demarcate house construction site, villagers allege illegal encroachment by Jitendra Kumar Dubey

Police in Putru demarcated a disputed house construction site on the highway, with villagers alleging illegal land encroachment by Jitendra Kumar Dubey of Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – On Thursday night, Galudih police reached Putru, where ASI Mithilesh Kumar demarcated the boundary of a house construction site on the highway.

Jitendra Kumar Dubey, a resident of Jamshedpur, has purchased land in Putru in the name of his wife Aarti Kumari.

The land is located on the Putru highway and is near a public ground used for goat puja, children’s football, and cultural programs.

Villagers allege that Dubey is encroaching on government land and forcibly constructing a house.

In response to an assault incident in Putru, the police have registered a case against 16 named individuals and 30 unknown persons based on Dubey’s statement.

The named accused include Madhu Manjhi, Anil Manjhi, Budhha Manjhi, Futku Mahato, Prafullo Mahato, Tarapada Mahato, Shasthipada Mahato, Lal Karmakar, Rajiv Mahato, Sandeep Mahato, Hakim Manjhi, Huding Soren, Anoop Mahato, Raimati Manjhi, Sanka Mahato, and Asha Rani Mahato.

Out of these, the police have sent Hakim Manjhi and Prafulla Mahato to jail.

A case has been registered against all of them under various sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The villagers’ concerns about illegal encroachment have heightened tensions in the area.

Authorities are investigating the allegations and ensuring that legal procedures are followed.

"We are committed to addressing the concerns of the villagers while ensuring that the law is upheld," said a Galudih police officer.
