Sitaramdera Police Arrests Father and Son for Failing to Appear in Court

Father and son sent to jail for not appearing in court after being granted bail under POCSO Act

Sitaramdera police have arrested Bhalubasa residents U Ghosh and his father A Ghosh for failing to appear in court after being granted bail under the POCSO Act.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Sitaramdera police have arrested U Ghosh and his father A Ghosh from Bhalubasa and sent them to jail.

The arrest was made after the duo failed to appear in court following their release on bail under the POCSO Act.

In 2019, U Ghosh was accused of kidnapping and raping a minor, with his father also implicated in the case.

The court had granted bail to both, allowing them to remain out of custody. However, the two repeatedly failed to appear in court for hearings.

Despite court-issued summons, U and A Ghosh did not attend the court proceedings, prompting the court to issue a non-bailable warrant against them.

Acting on this warrant, the Sitaramdera police arrested the father and son.

This action underscores the legal consequences of failing to comply with court orders, particularly in serious cases involving the POCSO Act.

The police have emphasized the importance of adhering to judicial processes to ensure justice is served.

Authorities have reiterated the significance of court appearances and the severe repercussions for absconding from legal responsibilities.

"We are committed to enforcing the law and ensuring that justice is served. Non-compliance with court orders will not be tolerated," said a Sitaramdera police source.
