Police Uncover Plot, Nab Husband and Three Associates Involved in Killing Jyoti Agarwal
Seraikela-Kharsawan police have solved the murder case of Jyoti Agarwal, wife of Jamshedpur businessman Ravi Agarwal, revealing that her husband was the main conspirator behind the crime. Ravi Agarwal, along with three associates, has been arrested and sent to judicial custody.
SERAIKELA – The murder of Jyoti Agarwal, which took place on NH 33 between Kanderbera and Wave International Hotel under Chandil police station last Friday, has been solved by the Seraikela-Kharsawan police.
The investigation revealed that Jyoti’s husband, businessman Ravi Agarwal, was the main conspirator in the murder case.
He was arrested by the police along with three other associates, identified as Pankaj Kumar Sahni, Rohit Kumar Dubey, and Mukesh Mishra, a resident of Babudih Lal Bhatta, Jamshedpur.
Marital Discord and Murder Plot
According to Seraikela-Kharsawan district SP Manish Toppo, the deceased’s father, Premchand Aggarwal, had filed a written complaint accusing his son-in-law Ravi Agarwal of shooting and killing his daughter.
The investigation, based on technical evidence, revealed that the deceased had been having a rift with her husband since their marriage, leading to daily fights.
Unable to tolerate his wife, Ravi Aggarwal, along with Mukesh Mishra and four other associates, planned to kill her for a sum of Rs 16 lakh.
Execution of the Murder
The murder plan had failed twice in the past, but on March 29, Ravi Aggarwal, along with his wife and children, stopped on the highway between Kanderbera and Wave International Hotel after having dinner at Mini Punjab Hotel in Baliguma.
On the pretext of vomiting on the banks of the river, Mukesh Mishra and three other associates reached the spot and killed Jyoti Agarwal by shooting her on the temple with a gun.
Previous Attempts and False Extortion Letter
The police revealed that there had been a previous attempt to murder Jyoti Agarwal in Gangtok in February, followed by an attempt to kill her by slitting her throat.
The letter about giving money for extortion was found to be false and was a part of the planned murder.
By killing his wife in front of their children, Ravi Agarwal had made the children witnesses to the crime, suggesting that the murder was carried out by criminals.
