BJP’s Dilip Verma Files Nomination for Gandey Assembly By-Election
Annapurna Devi Submits Papers for Koderma Lok Sabha Seat, UP Deputy CM Campaigns
Dilip Verma, the BJP candidate for the Gandey Assembly by-election, has filed his nomination papers.
RANCHI – Dilip Verma submitted his nomination to the Koderma deputy commissioner, officially entering the electoral race.
Initially scheduled for May 3, Verma’s nomination filing was advanced to coincide with Annapurna Devi’s submission.
Annapurna Devi, the BJP candidate for the Koderma Lok Sabha seat, also filed her nomination today.
Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya arrived in Giridih to support the BJP candidates.
Maurya appealed to the voters to cast their ballots in favor of Annapurna Devi and Dilip Verma.
In the Gandey Assembly by-election, Dilip Verma is pitted against Kalpana Soren of the opposition party.
Soren had already filed her nomination papers on April 29, setting the stage for the contest.
The Gandey by-election will be held simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections on May 20.
BJP State President Babulal Marandi and other party leaders accompanied Annapurna Devi during her nomination filing.
Following the nomination, a public meeting was organized to garner support for the BJP candidates.
In Koderma, Annapurna Devi is set to face Vinod Singh, a CPIML MLA and INDIA bloc candidate, in a direct contest.
The Koderma Lok Sabha election, along with the Gandey by-election, is scheduled for May 20.
The BJP is putting its full weight behind its candidates, with top leaders campaigning actively.
The outcome of these elections will be closely watched as an indicator of the political climate in the region.
