District Level Tribal Sports Event Concludes with Exhilarating Competitions

East Singhbhum hosts district-level tribal sports competition featuring athletics, hockey, archery, and football, celebrating World Tribal Day.

JAMSHEDPUR – Under the joint aegis of Directorate of Sports and Youth Affairs Jharkhand, Ranchi and District Administration East Singhbhum, a district level sports competition was organized on the occasion of World Tribal Day.

Athletics, hockey, archery, and football competitions were played among tribal players in the district at different venues.

Deputy Development Commissioner Mr. Manish Kumar graced the event as the chief guest, along with Special guest Subdivision Officer Dhalbhum Mr. Piyush Sinha, international athlete Budhwa Oraon and Veer Dhan Marandi as guests of honor.

They encouraged the players and congratulated the winners.

International athlete Budhwa Oraon and Veer Dhan Marandi also awarded winners in athletics and football.

The winners received cash prizes with the first prize being ₹5000 and a gold medal, second prize ₹3000 and a silver medal, and third prize ₹2000 and a bronze medal.

Athletics and archery games were held at JRD Sports Complex, Jamshedpur, hockey competition at Naval Tata Hockey Stadium, Indira Nagar, and football at "Tinplate Sports Stadium".

Winning teams and individuals were awarded trophies and cash prizes.

Mr. Manish Kumar emphasized the importance of sports and games and congratulated various organizations for successfully hosting the events.

The final results included John Sporting Club winning men’s football, Musabani Football Club winning women’s football, Bharat Munda Samaj winning men’s hockey, Tata Steel Foundation winning women’s hockey, and various individuals winning in archery and athletics.

Chief coach of Naval Tata Hockey Academy Manish Kumar, international handball coach Hasan Malik Imam, international athletes SK Tomar, Avtar Singh, Jagannath Behera had special support in successfully conducting the sports events.
