JAMSHEDPUR – The XLRI Auditorium served as the venue for an extensive training program designed to equip various teams responsible for monitoring and overseeing election expenditure with the necessary knowledge and skills to ensure a free, fair, and transparent election process.
Dipankar Chaudhary, the Project Director of ITDA cum Senior Officer Expenditure Cell, encouraged participants to fully assimilate the training information and consult senior officers in case of any confusion, emphasizing the importance of mutual coordination in facilitating transparent elections.
Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar underscored the crucial role of expenditure monitoring teams in ensuring transparent elections, highlighting the necessity of continuous monitoring and diligent record-keeping to prevent the misuse of illegal money power during the electoral process.
The training session witnessed the participation of a diverse range of teams, including Assistant Expenditure Observers, Flying Squads, Static Investigation Teams, Video Observation Teams, Video Surveillance Teams, Accounts Teams, Income Tax Teams, Excise Teams, Commerce Teams, and representatives from various banks.
Ish Gupta, the Expenditure Observer appointed by the Election Commission, stressed the paramount importance of adhering to the guidelines set forth by the Election Commission of India, emphasizing the vital role of the Expenditure Monitoring Teams in ensuring compliance with the Model Code of Conduct.
The session covered a wide spectrum of topics, providing essential training to the teams involved in monitoring and overseeing election expenditure by political parties and candidates.
Distinguished figures such as Ish Gupta, Manish Kumar, and Dipankar Chaudhary shared valuable insights and suggestions regarding the monitoring, reporting, and record maintenance of election expenditure.
