Fatal Mishap in Ranchi Leaves Three Dead and Eight Injured

A devastating road accident in Ranchi’s Ratu area resulted in three fatalities and multiple injuries.

RANCHI – A tragic road incident on Monday morning in the Ratu police station area of Ranchi claimed the lives of two women and a girl, with eight others sustaining injuries.

The accident occurred when a pickup van, carrying devotees to Ratu Talab for the Chaiti Chhath festival, struck a road divider. The impact caused the passengers to be thrown across the road, where a passing tractor tragically ran over three of the devotees, leading to their immediate deaths.

Two of the injured women are reported to be in critical condition following the accident.

The victims were residents of Chatakpur village in Ratu, journeying to a pond to offer Arghya to the rising sun as part of the Chaiti Chhath celebrations. The accident took place near the Shiva temple in Kathitand, causing panic and chaos among the local populace.

Responders from the local community acted swiftly to transport the injured to the hospital for urgent medical care.
