The Chaiti Chhath festival wrapped up with traditional sunrise offerings to the Sun God in Kolhan’s Chhath Ghats.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Chaiti Chhath festival, a profound expression of sun worship and folk faith, reached its culmination on Monday with the offering of Arghya to the rising sun.
Devotees thronged to various Chhath Ghats across the Kolhan division, particularly along the banks of the Swarnarekha and Kharkai rivers, engaging in prayers for their families’ well-being and peace.
The main ritual included the worshippers offering Arghya at sunrise on Monday and at sunset the previous Sunday, directed at Lord Bhaskar.
The Sidhgora Suryadham Mandir’s Chhath Ghat pond within the Sun Temple complex was a focal point, drawing thousands of participants.
Chhathi Maiya and Lord Bhaskar were venerated amid the chants and melodious songs dedicated to Chhathi Maiya, creating an atmosphere steeped in devotion.
To support the celebratory mood, the Sun Temple Committee not only ensured the cleanliness of the Chhath Ghat ponds but also provided refreshments to the attendees.
The temple surroundings were festively decorated with colorful lights, flowers, and other adornments, amplifying the spiritual ambiance.
Security measures were rigorously implemented by local administration officials and temple committee members to safeguard the attendees during the festivities.
