Technical Talks Highlight Sustainability and Future of Steel
The Indian Institute of Metals, Jamshedpur chapter, recently hosted a series of technical talks featuring esteemed international experts, focusing on the future of steel and sustainability.
JAMSHEDPUR – The Beldih Club in Bistupur was the venue for a significant gathering organized by the Indian Institute of Metals, Jamshedpur chapter, featuring prominent global experts in metallurgy.
Prof. Wolfgang Bleck from RWTH Aachen University and Prof. Dierk Raabe from the Max Planck Institute for Iron Research delivered key lectures.
They discussed the advancements in steel research, emphasizing the need for innovation in light of environmental challenges and the sector’s impact on CO2 emissions.
The event saw participation from over 100 professionals including Dr. Debashish Bhattacharjee of Tata Steel and Dr. Sandip GhoshChawdhury of CSIR-NML.
Prof. Ashok Kumar, Chairperson of the IIM Jamshedpur Chapter, provided the opening remarks, outlining the chapter’s goals and activities.
A Q&A session followed each talk, with enthusiastic involvement from the audience, comprising industry experts, academics, and students.
Dr. Gopi Kishore Mandal concluded the event with a vote of thanks, appreciating the insights shared by the speakers and the support from various dignitaries.
