Jamshedpur Completes First Phase of Training for Presiding and Polling Officers

District Election Officer Ananya Mittal Emphasizes Importance of Thorough Training for Error-Free and Efficient Electoral Process

In a significant step towards preparing for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the first phase of training for Presiding Officers and Polling Officers has been successfully concluded at the Co-operative College in Jamshedpur.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Co-operative College in Jamshedpur recently served as the venue for the successful completion of the first phase of training for Presiding Officers and Polling Officers, as part of the preparations for the upcoming 2024 Lok Sabha elections.

The comprehensive five-day training program, conducted in two shifts, witnessed the participation of a staggering 10,972 trainees, comprising first, second, and third polling officers, as well as presiding officers.

The training sessions provided in-depth instruction on the operation of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), Voter Verified Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs), and all procedures pertaining to the voting process.

District Election Officer Ananya Mittal, who visited the training site along with Deputy Development Commissioner Manish Kumar, emphasized the paramount importance of thorough training in ensuring an error-free and efficient election process.

Mittal directed the trainees to pay utmost attention to the instructions imparted by the master trainers and encouraged them to seek clarification on any doubts or queries they might have.

The District Election Officer underscored the crucial responsibilities shouldered by presiding officers and polling officers on polling day, urging them to fully grasp and execute their duties with diligence and precision.

The training program was meticulously designed to cover all aspects of election procedures, with detailed presentations and practical demonstrations on EVM and VVPAT operations.

Trainees were provided with comprehensive guides outlining their specific roles and responsibilities during the electoral process, ensuring a clear understanding of their duties.

The training sessions were attended by key officials, including ADM (SOR) Mahendra Kumar, DCLR Ghatshila Neet Nikhil Surin, Assistant Director of Panchayati Raj Dr. Rajnikant Mishra, and District Public Relations Officer Panchanan Oraon, among others.

The successful completion of this first phase of training serves as a testament to the commitment and dedication of election officials and personnel in their endeavor to conduct free, fair, and transparent elections.

With meticulous preparation and strict adherence to protocols, the electoral process is well-positioned to uphold the democratic values that form the bedrock of the nation.
