JAMSHEDPUR – BJP leader Ganesh Mahali has resigned after being denied an election ticket.
Ganesh Mahali, a senior leader of the BJP, has quit the party after not receiving a ticket for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections.
Mahali, who had previously contested twice from the Sarai Kela constituency, resigned from all party positions on Sunday.
He expressed disappointment over the party’s decision and accused BJP of deviating from its core values.
In his resignation letter, Mahali stated that he had dedicated 25 years of service to the BJP, but now feels the party no longer values loyal workers.
He alleged that recent entrants were controlling key decisions, which forced his departure.
Mahali, who had been hopeful for a ticket from Kharsawan, is now looking to secure a candidacy from the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM).
He revealed that he has already initiated discussions with Chief Minister Hemant Soren and expects a JMM ticket soon.
Mahali’s decision comes shortly after the BJP announced its list of 66 candidates for the state elections.
The party had granted the Sarai Kela ticket to Sonaram Bodra, a move that sparked discontent among loyalists like Mahali.
This marks the second instance of rebellion within the BJP after Basco Besra, another leader, also voiced dissent over ticket distribution.
