JAMSHEDPUR – In a strategic move to facilitate the smooth conduct of the Hindu New Year Yatra celebrations, Jamshedpur has imposed traffic restrictions effective April 8.
The directive restricts the operation of heavy vehicles from 6 am to 11 pm, aiming to ensure public safety and ease of traffic during the festivities.
This regulation applies to all forms of heavy transport with the exception of buses, which are exempt from this restriction.
The Hindu New Year, marking the commencement of new beginnings, falls on April 9, emphasizing the cultural and religious significance of the day.
The decision, a collaborative effort by the district’s Deputy Commissioner, Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), and Traffic Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP), aims to enhance safety and traffic management.
Conclusively, only buses will be allowed to traverse the city during the specified hours, aiding in the smooth flow of traffic and ensuring the festivities proceed without disruption.
