National Agricultural Science Fair Ushers in New Era for Jharkhand Farmers

In an unprecedented move towards agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship, the Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela has been inaugurated in Simdega, marking the first time the district plays host to this national-level agricultural science fair. This event, organized by the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, Pusa (New Delhi), and taking place at Albert Ekka Stadium from March 10th to 12th, symbolizes a significant leap towards realizing the vision of a prosperous farmer community through the adoption of modern agricultural techniques and entrepreneurship.

SIMDEGA – In a significant push towards agricultural innovation and entrepreneurship, the Pusa Krishi Vigyan Mela was inaugurated in Simdega.

Union Agriculture Minister Arjun Munda emphasized the government’s focus on increasing farmers’ incomes through modern agricultural practices.

Over 40 agricultural scientists from across India are participating, sharing insights on improved crop cultivation.

Selected farmers were awarded solar pump sets by the Welfare Department, highlighting efforts to modernize farming in Jharkhand.

Agricultural universities, institutes, and science centers are showcasing new technologies aimed at agricultural entrepreneurship and prosperity.

Farmers have the chance to learn about advanced agriculture and horticulture techniques to boost productivity, with 1000 farmers receiving training daily.

The Pusa Agricultural Science Fair, featuring 50 informative stalls, aims to educate on governmental schemes and agricultural advancements.

In a traditional ceremony, dignitaries including Arjun Munda were welcomed, underlining the cultural significance of the event.

Advancing Agricultural Knowledge

This year’s fair focuses on vital themes like value addition and crop diversification, designed to enhance agricultural entrepreneurship among farmers. The fair serves as a crucial platform for farmers to discover and learn about cutting-edge agricultural practices that can significantly uplift their livelihoods,” said Arjun Munda, highlighting the event’s importance in fostering sustainable agricultural growth.

Empowering Local Farmers

The fair’s dedication to farmer education and empowerment is evident through its extensive training programs. “Every day, a thousand farmers gain invaluable knowledge on modern agricultural techniques, which is pivotal for the district’s ambition to become a model in agricultural excellence,” remarked a local agricultural expert.

This initiative reflects the broader national agenda to augment farmer incomes and ensure agricultural sustainability.
