JAMSHEDPUR – In a swift operation following a shooting incident on Daigutu Krishna Road, the Jamshedpur police have arrested five individuals, including prime suspect Vikas Tiwari.
The arrests stem from a violent altercation on February 12, under Mango police station’s jurisdiction.
Vikas Tiwari’s criminal history includes multiple charges, notably the Chhotu Pandit murder case, highlighting his significant role in local criminal activities.
The police, led by SSP Kishore Kaushal, seized a country-made pistol, ammunition, a hockey stick, and the vehicle used during the crime.
The altercation on February 10 between children of Anil and Shankar, leading to the shooting, was reportedly a display of dominance by Tiwari.
Accomplices Prince Singh, Sanjar Ahmed alias Arzoo, Sagar Prasad, and Ankit Kumar Thakur alias Golu were also detained, while two others remain at large.
The apprehended were intercepted on NH while trying to escape the city, later admitting to their crime during interrogation.
Authorities showcased their commitment to law and order by parading the accused, handcuffed, in a public display from MGM Hospital to the Jamshedpur Court, after a police vehicle breakdown necessitated alternative transport.
