Top GST officials engage with Chaibasa Chamber of Commerce to address local business concerns

CHAIBASA – In a significant meeting at Chaibasa’s Sunshine Restaurant, key GST officials, including Chief Commissioner B.B. Mahapatra and Assistant Commissioner J.P. Das, were warmly welcomed by the Chaibasa Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The Chamber’s President, Madhusudan Agrawal, honored Chief Commissioner Mahapatra with a bouquet and shawl, while outgoing President Nitin Prakash and former President Anil Kharwal presented commendation certificates.

Assistant Commissioner Das received accolades from Vice Presidents Shibu Agrawal and Vikas Goyal, signifying the Chamber’s appreciation for the officials’ visit.

The gathering focused on addressing the closure of mines and GST-related discrepancies, highlighting the Chamber’s concerns for local businesses.

Chief Commissioner Mahapatra assured that issues raised would be communicated to the state tax commissioner, emphasizing the GST’s goal to minimize business inconveniences.

The meeting underscored a commitment to ensuring smooth business operations in the Chaibasa region, aiming for increased revenue collection and minimal disruption for local entrepreneurs.

The memorandum presented by the Chaibasa Chamber will also be forwarded to the GST Council, reflecting a proactive approach to addressing business and tax-related challenges in the region.

The event saw the participation of key Chamber members, including Joint Secretary Wakil Khan, Treasurer Rajiv Khairwal, and executive members, showcasing the local business community’s collective effort to engage with GST officials for better commerce facilitation.
