Digital Innovations in Water Management Recognized

Tata Steel’s Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division honored with ‘Excellence in Digitalisation’ award at Water Digest World Water Awards for sustainable water management practices.

JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant recognition of its sustainable water management practices, Tata Steel’s Ferro Alloys and Minerals Division (FAMD) has been awarded the ‘Excellence in Digitalisation’ at the Water Digest World Water Awards 2023-24.

The accolade was received for FAMD’s efforts in water conservation through the use of technology and digital tools.

The division’s strategy has been instrumental in tracking water usage throughout its operational chain, from the Sukinda mines in Jajpur to the Ferro Chrome Plant in Athagarh, Cuttack.

Pankaj Satija, Executive-In-Charge of FAMD, shared the division’s honor in receiving the award, stating it reaffirms their dedication to integrating innovative digital solutions into their sustainability initiatives.

The award ceremony, held in New Delhi, saw Sugandha Jayaswal, Resident Executive (Delhi) of Tata Steel, accepting the award on the company’s behalf.

The event was attended by Gajendra Singh Shekhawat, the Hon’ble Minister for the Ministry of Jal Shakti, who felicitated the winners.

This recognition underscores Tata Steel (FAMD)’s pioneering use of digital technologies to enhance water management processes and underscores its commitment to environmental sustainability.
