Chakradharpur Division Trackmen and Running Staff to Receive ORS During Summer

Railways take steps to ensure the health and well-being of employees in hot weather

In a move to safeguard the health of railway workers during the scorching summer months, the Chakradharpur division, including Tatanagar, has decided to provide Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) to trackmen during their lay duty and extend the facility to running employees as well.

JAMSHEDPUR – The Chakradharpur division of the railways, including Tatanagar, has taken a proactive step to ensure the well-being of its trackmen and running staff by providing them with Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) during the summer season.

The decision comes after a meeting between representatives of the Men’s Union, including MK Singh, Mohd. Farid, SN Shiv, Sanjay Singh, and Rakesh Tiwari, and the senior Divisional Operations Manager (DOM) of the Chakradharpur division.

During the meeting, the union representatives raised concerns about the installation of air conditioning, seating arrangements, and the provision of ORS in the Chakradharpur lobby.

In response to the union’s demands, the Chief Medical Superintendent of Railways has requested a list of running employees and engineering track maintainers to facilitate the distribution of ORS.

The initiative aims to keep railway workers healthy and hydrated during their duties, particularly when exposed to high temperatures and challenging working conditions.

The provision of ORS will help prevent dehydration and heat-related illnesses among the trackmen and running staff, ensuring their safety and well-being while on duty.

The move has been welcomed by the railway employees, who appreciate the administration’s efforts to prioritize their health and working conditions.

The Chakradharpur division’s decision to provide ORS to its staff serves as an example of the railways’ commitment to the welfare of its employees, particularly those working in challenging environments.
