JAMSHEDPUR – In a significant development for rail connectivity in the region, South Eastern Railway’s General Manager, Anil Kumar Mishra, has unveiled plans for the comprehensive redevelopment of Tatanagar Station.
This initiative is poised to elevate passenger experience to standards comparable with those of airports.
During a detailed inspection spanning from Salga Jhudi to Adityapur, Mishra underscored the imminent restoration of essential amenities like ramps, lifts, and escalators across all platforms at Tatanagar.
He also highlighted the completion of the third rail line from Kharagpur to Salgjhudi and outlined the forthcoming extension to Adityapur via Tatanagar.
With a current budget of Rs 450 crore, which is subject to adjustments post the Detailed Project Report (DPR) approval, the project aims for a July start.
Mishra’s tour included critical infrastructural elements such as the RRI Building, Diamond Crossing, and the Railway Underpass.
Accompanied by key railway officials including the Divisional Railway Manager (DRM), Assistant Railway Manager (ARM), and the Station Director, the inspection underscores a commitment to enhancing rail infrastructure and services.
The envisioned re-development will not only modernize the station but also significantly improve accessibility for the disabled with the rapid reintroduction of lifts and Ramps for Mobility Access (RAM).
