Tatanagar Station Set for Transformation, Third Line Extension in Progress

Railway General Manager Anil Kumar Mishra’s inspection at Tatanagar signals a comprehensive upgrade with a world-class vision, including a third line extension.

JAMSHEDPUR – During an extensive review, Anil Kumar Mishra, the Railway General Manager, scrutinized various facets of Tatanagar Station, including its RRI Building, Diamond Crossing, and the strategic Railway Underpass, extending his survey to Adityapur and Chandil alongside key railway figures.

Mishra revealed the third line’s extension from Kharagpur to Salgajhudi is complete, with plans to stretch further to Adityapur via Tatanagar by July. The Tatanagar station’s redevelopment is on the horizon, pending a Detailed Project Report approval, backed by an initial Rs 450 crore fund.

Aiming to elevate Tatanagar Railway Station to global standards, Mishra’s blueprint for the station includes modern amenities like ramps, lifts, and escalators, ensuring accessibility for all passengers.

This initiative is part of a broader vision to enhance passenger experience significantly, transforming Tatanagar into a facility paralleling airports in functionality and design.

The inspection, involving high-level railway officials such as the DRM, ARM, and Station Director, underscores the project’s importance, setting a timeline for operational advancements and infrastructural enhancements.

Through these efforts, Tatanagar is poised to become a benchmark in railway station development, reflecting the commitment to passenger comfort and the region’s growth.
